TWO CHARGED FOLLOWING SEPARATE IMPAIRED DRIVING INVESTIGATIONS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals are facing charges following separate impaired driving investigations in Norfolk County.
On Friday, July 17, 2026, at approximately 11:35 pm, a member of the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Queen Street South in Simcoe.
After interacting with the driver, who was required to perform a roadside sobriety test, the individual was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 50-year-old Alesha BOGAD of Waterloo, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Fail to signal - lane change
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
After interacting with the driver, officers required the individual to perform a roadside sobriety test. The driver was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 43-year-old Thomas POWLESS of Brantford, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Operation while prohibited, - Driving while under suspension - two counts
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
