CHARGES LAID FOLLOWING SIMCOE FRAUD INVESTIGATION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged following a fraud investigation in Simcoe.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at approximately 3:52 pm, members of the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a business on Norfolk Street North after receiving a report of fraud.
The investigation determined that an individual attended the business to collect a credit card that had been fraudulently ordered. Prior to police being contacted, the victim had alerted the business to the suspected fraudulent activity.
Officers located the individual at the business and took them into custody without incident.
As a result, 43-year-old Aran PATTON of Mississauga, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Personation with intent - intent to obtain property (identity fraud), - Use, deals, acts on forged document, - Possession of a forged document with intent
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
